PayWave mass arbitration
A coordinated program of individual arbitration demands alleging that PayWave charged instant-transfer and currency-conversion fees above the rates it disclosed, then relied on a class-action waiver to keep those claims out of court.
ApexYield shareholder claim
An opt-in group claim under section 90A FSMA alleging that ApexYield Capital plc overstated its assets under management and fee income to the market for more than three years, so that the share price those statements supported was false — until a November 2024 restatement wiped roughly £1.3bn of shareholder value in a week.
NorthStar Property Fund claim
An opt-in group claim alleging that NorthStar marketed an open-ended commercial property fund as offering monthly liquidity it could not honour, and overstated the value of a portfolio it could not sell. When dealing was suspended on 14 October 2022, investors were trapped; the portfolio was then written down 22%.
GreenPeak bondholder claim
A collective damages action alleging that GreenPeak’s €480m retail bond programme was marketed as capital-stable, asset-backed ESG income when its security was largely unsecured and its projects carried risk the prospectus understated. The solar portfolio underperformed, two flagship parks were never energised, and the bonds defaulted.
Meridian PE investor claim
A securities claim alleging that Meridian overstated the net asset value of its flagship Fund IV and a private-credit fund — marking impaired portfolio companies at or above cost — reporting about 1.6x MOIC when the realizable figure was closer to 1.0x. The inflated NAV inflated management fees and crystallized carried interest early, until a review restated NAV down 34%.
NovaBridge securities claim
A securities class action alleging that NovaBridge sold its NBX token and a “NovaBridge Earn” product as safe, high-yield investments — when both were unregistered securities, and the platform was marketed as solvent and secure when it was neither. Withdrawals were halted in November 2024 with roughly $1.9bn of customer liabilities, and the company filed Chapter 11.
